The September Team Drive is over; this reference records its qualification, Fame, Trial, grouping, and reward rules without presenting an expired event as live.
The Overwatch Season 4 Team Drive has ended. Blizzard's patch notes gave the event a precise closing time of September 7, 2026 at 11 AM PT, while the Season 4 overview and midcycle article said it ran through September 6. The official pages conflict by a day, but both published windows are over as of September 8. Players can no longer begin or add Fame to this event.
Final status
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Can I start or progress the Season 4 Team Drive now? | No; the event window has ended |
| What was the entry requirement? | Complete Competitive placements |
| What was The Trial? | Win three of the latest four matches |
| Could players queue solo? | Yes, but grouped teammates supplied additional Fame bonuses |
| What replaced normal Drive Signatures? | Player Card Frames |
| Who qualified for the numbered title? | The first 10,000 players to finish The Trial |
Blizzard said the limited numbered titles would unlock after the Team Drive ended. The official event pages do not publish a separate claim code or manual redemption process, so do not use third-party “claim” links.
How the event worked
The completed event followed this sequence:
- Finish Competitive placements. Players who had not completed placements could not participate.
- Queue solo or with friends. Winning teammates could automatically remain grouped for the next queue.
- Earn Fame through wins. Teammates contributed to the available Fame bonus.
- Advance through Gladiator Ranks. These acted as progression checkpoints.
- Pass The Trial. The final condition was three wins in the latest four matches.
Auto-grouping could be disabled under Social → General → Groups → Enable Auto-Grouping on Team Drive Wins. Leaving a group kept the player's own earned bonus but removed the bonuses contributed by the departed teammates.
Rewards and the numbered title
Team Drives awarded Competitive Points and Player Card Frames rather than the nameplate Signatures used by regular Drives.
| Reward | Event condition |
|---|---|
| Competitive Points | Earned through Team Drive progression |
| Player Card Frames | Granted through the event reward track |
| Dynamic numbered title | Reserved for the first 10,000 players to finish The Trial |
Blizzard described the numbered title as temporary and said it would unlock after the event. Completing The Trial was the qualification step; the title was not supposed to appear immediately during the live window.
The expired Team Drive is separate from the Season 4 Battle Pass. Use the Season 4 Battle Pass page for pass contents and the Season 4 overview for the rest of the update.
