The Docks uses shared community construction and a personal XP path; this reference explains what each contribution changes and what remains available later.
Start Palia's Civic Project: Docks by speaking with Ashura. Contribute Building Supplies and Donation Kits at the workbenches near the project or from your Home Plot. Every valid contribution helps the shared construction total and earns personal Civic Project XP. The project appears under the Lunar Path interface, but it does not need to be activated before you participate.
How the contribution loop works
- Speak with Ashura and follow the project introduction to Kilima's docks.
- Inspect a project workbench or use the corresponding contribution access from the Home Plot.
- Choose a Building Supply or Donation Kit whose listed requirements you can satisfy.
- Confirm the exact item and quantity before donating. Some kits request a matching collection, such as twelve of the same uncommon insect.
- Use the awarded Civic Project XP on the project's personal reward path while the community total advances the physical rebuild.
Donation Kits contribute one, two, or four points depending on the kit. A higher point value is not a blanket instruction to spend every rare material: the official record defines values and requirements, but it does not publish an economy-tested “best kit” after market prices, inventory goals, or future patch changes.
Shared progress versus personal XP
These are two connected counters with different consequences. Shared progress changes the Docks for the entire community. Personal XP unlocks the individual reward path, which includes decor recipes, Tailor Tickets, Treat Bags, Kilima Coins, Tints, Profile Icons, and the Valhäst among other rewards.
The docks eventually become a harbor and create a new route toward the Royal Highlands. You do not lose the personal reward path when that happens. Singularity 6 explicitly says Civic Project XP can continue to be earned after construction finishes.
The two limited titles need a live status check
Patch 0.206 publishes two contribution thresholds:
- Deckhand at ten contribution points.
- Harbormaster at 400 contribution points.
The published patch notes say those titles become unavailable when construction is complete. A September 3 post in the Palia community relays a later clarification from the official Discord: the title event is controlled separately, so the dock's physical completion did not immediately remove the titles, and the final cutoff was not yet known. That post is a community relay, not a replacement official rules page.
The safe current instruction is to open the live Docks reward interface and check whether Deckhand and Harbormaster still appear before committing materials. Do not use the finished dock model alone as proof that the title window has closed. The rest of the personal reward path remains available after shared construction under the official patch notes.
The Valhäst unlocks at project level 45. Once placed on a ranch, it produces arrows. Riding one also improves party turn rate. Those are the official effects; this page does not assign a value ranking against other mounts.
If the Contribution Board total looks stuck
Patch 0.206 lists a known display problem: when a player contributes a large quantity of items, Total Donations on the Contribution Board may fail to update correctly until a subsequent donation is made. Before assuming the supplies were rejected:
- Confirm that the contribution completed and your personal project progress changed.
- Leave the board and reopen it.
- If you were already planning another valid contribution, check whether that later donation refreshes the displayed total.
- If neither personal progress nor the board changes, stop donating valuable stock and use Palia support rather than repeatedly testing with rare materials.
This is a display workaround bounded by the official known-issues note, not a promise that every missing contribution will recover.

QUICK ANSWERS
Questions players ask next
How do I start the Palia Docks Civic Project?
Speak with Ashura, then contribute Building Supplies or Donation Kits at the Docks workbenches or from your Home Plot.
Can I earn Docks rewards after construction finishes?
Yes. Personal Civic Project XP and the reward path remain available after shared construction is complete.
Which Docks rewards are limited?
Deckhand at ten contribution points and Harbormaster at 400 are the two limited titles. Patch 0.206 ties them to construction, while a later official-Discord clarification relayed by the community says physical completion does not immediately remove them; check the live reward UI because no durable official page gives the final cutoff.
Why did my Total Donations number not update?
Patch 0.206 lists a known display issue where a large donation may not update the Contribution Board total until a later donation is made.
Are Deckhand and Harbormaster already gone after the docks were built?
Do not infer that from the dock model alone. A September 3 community relay of an official-Discord clarification says physical completion and title availability are separate, but the final cutoff was still unknown; verify the titles in the live reward UI.
