FIRST CHECK

Link and verify the existing save before moving devices. An in-game deletion is permanent, while Poké Gold follows a correctly linked save across operating systems.

To move Pokémon TCG Pocket to a new phone or tablet, first confirm that the existing save shows a Nintendo Account, Google Account, or Apple Account as linked. On the new device, choose Transfer Existing Save Data and sign in with that same linked identity. Do not create a second save or use Delete Save Data as part of the transfer.

Before you leave the old device

Run these checks while the collection still opens on the old device:

  1. Open Menu → Other → Account and look for the provider marked Linked.
  2. Confirm that you can sign in to that exact Nintendo Account, Google Account, or Apple Account. Write down the provider and email or login identity, not the password.
  3. Check the player name, collection, and Poké Gold so you can recognize the correct save after transfer.
  4. If Premium Pass is active, identify the Apple Account or Google Account that purchased it. This store account is a separate part of the move.
  5. Keep the old installation until the correct save opens on the new device.

If no provider is linked, select one from Menu → Other → Account and complete the sign-in first. The same options are available from Menu → Account on the title screen. Supported providers are Nintendo Account, Google Account, and Apple Account on iOS. Age restrictions can limit a player to Nintendo Account, and Apple Account linking appears only on iOS.

Choose carefully. Pokémon Support says a linked account cannot be updated or removed from the save in normal settings. Deleting the save removes the link, but it also permanently deletes the play record, cards, items, and Poké Gold.

Transfer the same save to the new device

  1. Install Pokémon TCG Pocket from the App Store or Google Play on the new device.
  2. On the first launch, complete Country/Region Selection → Age Confirmation → Terms of Use and Privacy Notice.
  3. Choose Transfer Existing Save Data.
  4. Select the same provider shown as linked on the old device and sign in with the same account identity.
  5. Open the game and verify the player name, collection, items, and Poké Gold before uninstalling anything from the old device.

The linked save can be shared across multiple devices, but it cannot be used on those devices at the same time. A newly created save cannot be merged into the old one later. If the new device opens the wrong or empty collection, stop before making purchases or deleting data and recheck which provider identity was used.

Pokémon Support says Poké Gold remains available after a device transfer, including a move between iOS and Android.

Deletion and recovery are different cases

The in-game Delete Save Data command is permanent. It removes the play record, owned items, and Poké Gold, stops the same save from working on other linked devices, and cannot be reversed by a support request.

An unlinked uninstall is also dangerous: the Premium Pass FAQ says a player who reinstalls without first linking the save cannot recover it without assistance. Pokémon Support may review some restoration requests for data that was not deliberately deleted, but restoration depends on the available server data, device, OS, progress, and other conditions. It is not guaranteed, and multiple saves cannot be merged.

If the app is inaccessible but the save was not deleted in-game, contact Pokémon Support. Do not create a replacement save and assume its progress can later be combined with the original.

Premium Pass is a second layer

Premium Pass subscription privileges are tied to the Apple Account or Google Account that subscribed, not only to the Pokémon TCG Pocket save. For a device replacement:

  1. Link the Premium Pass save on the old device.
  2. On the new device, activate the Apple Account or Google Account that purchased the pass.
  3. Transfer the same linked game save.
  4. Open the Premium Pass screen and tap Complete Purchase.

If the move changes operating systems, the benefits and acquired items can follow the linked save, but automatic renewal remains with the old platform account. Cancel through the store that originally billed the subscription if you want that renewal to stop. The in-game cancellation link on the new device may open the wrong store.

Do not use Transfer Pass Privileges casually with a different save. Pokémon Support says a platform account can subscribe with only one save, and transferring privileges to another save can prevent another transfer, including a return to the original save, for 60 days. Premium tickets and items already exchanged in the shop do not transfer through that separate privilege-transfer process.

Uninstalling the app or deleting save data does not cancel Premium Pass billing. Read Premium Pass transfer and cancellation before retiring the old device.
